Losing a tooth changes more than your appearance. Chewing becomes harder, speech can be affected, and over time, the surrounding bone starts to shrink. Dental implants solve all of this — not just cosmetically, but functionally.
We offer single tooth implants and full mouth restorations at our Kolkata clinic, handled by dentists who place implants regularly and know the procedure well.
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone. It acts as the root of your new tooth. Once it bonds with the bone, a crown, bridge, or denture is fixed on top.
The end result looks and feels like a real tooth. You don’t take it out at night. You don’t worry about it slipping. You just use it.
Why Implants Over Other Options?
- They protect the bone. When a tooth is lost, the bone underneath begins to disappear. Implants are the only replacement option that actively prevents this.
- They leave neighboring teeth alone. A bridge works by grinding down the teeth on either side. Implants don’t touch them.
- They last. Bridges and dentures need replacing. A well-maintained implant can last the rest of your life.
- They’re stable. No adhesives, no movement. You eat what you want without thinking about it.
How the Procedure Works
- Consultation: We take a 3D scan and examine your bone and gum health to see if you’re a good candidate.
- Planning: Every case is different. Your treatment plan is built around whether you need one implant or several.
- Placement: The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. Sedation is available if you prefer. Most patients find it more comfortable than they expected.
- Healing: The implant bonds to the bone over a few months — a natural process called osseointegration. You won’t feel it happening.
- Crown fitting: Once healed, your final crown, bridge, or denture is attached. That’s it.
Are You a Candidate?
If you have healthy gums and reasonable bone density, you almost certainly qualify. Bone loss doesn’t automatically rule you out — grafting can rebuild what’s needed before the implant is placed. We’ll check everything during your first visit and give you a straight answer.
What Does It Cost?
The price depends on how many implants you need, which type is used, and what the final restoration looks like. There’s no single number that applies to everyone.
What we can say: implants cost more upfront than bridges or dentures, but they don’t need replacing. Over ten or twenty years, they’re often the more economical choice — and certainly the more comfortable one.
